Sales Manager – Worldwide Car Rental Company

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £32,640 basic with a £40k OTE Plus Car

The role of Sales Manager is responsible for staff training and development and overall profitability of the store. The sales staff will deal with car hire for members of the local community, holiday makers and local businesses.

The sales team will offer car & insurance upgrades plus optional extras like satellite navigation & child seats.

Main responsibilities:

  • Maximise incremental sales through effective training, coaching and staff development.
  • Manage staff performance, through documented reviews and corrective actions.
  • Build an effective team through the promotion of a ‘Serviced Based Sales’ culture.
  • Support the Company’s culture of ‘Continuous Improvement’ through daily communication with staff through dedicated coaching and feedback sessions.
  • Identify training and development needs in conjunction with the FPG Programme and the Training Department.
  • Develop local business and maximise sales opportunities.
  • Work with the Fleet Cluster Manager and the Regional Fleet Manager to achieve the necessary vehicle levels to maximise business at your station.
  • Ensure all administration is completed accurately according to operating procedures.
  • Ensure the safety and security of staff and vehicles.
  • Control staff costs within agreed budgets.

Key Skills/Experience Needed:

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build rapport across the organisation with peers, staff and management, both written and verbal
  • Strong team-oriented leadership skills and proven track record in a sales role
  • Excellent coaching and training skills
  • Good numeracy, analysing and forecasting skills
  • Ability to attract, evaluate, coach, and advance staff to create an effective team
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Power Point.
  • A full, valid clean driving licence, with a minimum of 4 years driving experience is required
